R.D. Products (founded by Robert Dalton in 1964) of Rochester, New York, an identification card manufacturer, serving the college and the banking industries, produces the first national credit card with a photo imbedded in the card, utilizing ABS media (i.e. plastic) and a roll laminating process.
R.D. Products (Rochester, NY) develops and installs the first electronic card access system (i.e. standalone) for a college or university at the Rochester Institute Of Technology (Rochester, NY). The system, marketed as the "VALI-DINE" System (i.e. "validation of dining"), mechanically punched holes in the card as it was read to signify access to the dining hall. Mechanical counters for were updated with each punch.
