IDenticard Systems Inc. (Lancaster, PA), founded in 1970, installs its first campus A.M.E.C.S. (i.e. Automated Meal Control System) access control system at West Chester State Teachers College (West Chester, PA) as a "beta" site. The system, utilizing magnetic stripe technology (low coercivity), included "Meal Plan" and "Door Access" application hardware and software.
1979
General Meters Corporation (Calabassas, CA) founded by attorney Mr. Leon Gottlieb, to provide off-line vending control systems for copier machines.
The CBORD Group Inc. (Ithaca, NY) develops and installs their first (online) electronic card access system at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY).
