Company History:

Vanderbilt Industries, founded in 2012, is the composition of a generation of expertise, products, and access control technologies.

In 1989, Geoffrey Industries led the way with the development of SMS (Security Management System), a highly customizable access control system. SMS was enhanced in the mid 1990's with the addition of video integration and provided a complete security solution for education, healthcare and corporate environments.

In 2003, Geoffrey Industries was acquired by Ingersoll Rand Corporation and the portfolio was expanded with the launch of bright blue®, a web-based access control system for small to mid-sized applications. In 2012, Ingersoll Rand Corporation divested its security business unit and its access control and video solution product lines were acquired by Vanderbilt Industries.
